Dr. Laura Pomerenke, MD

Dr. Pomerenke completed her training in General Surgery, including a year of research in Breast Cancer, in 1995.  She practiced General Surgery, with an emphasis on breast diseases, until 2002 when she decided to dedicate her practice exclusively to breast problems.  Dr. Pomerenke treats over 200 breast cancers a year and has had additional training in breast ultrasound and oncoplastic surgical techniques.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and the American Society of Breast Diseases.  She is also a participant of the Mastery of Breast Surgery program and is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery. 

Dr. Pomerenke is an independent solo practictioner, and is affiliated with both Memorial Health Systems and Penrose-St. Francis Hospitals.  She also works closely with Rocky Mountain Cancer Center.  As an independent practitioner, she is able to work with your Primary Care Physician and make appropriate referrals to other physicians as desired.  She is involved in weekly Multidisciplinary Breast Conferences and is involved in Breast Cancer education in the community.
